HOW TO MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION CHAPTERS and LOCAL DISTRICTS
COA Ontario is responsible to ensure all Chapters and Local Districts work towards their mission statement and objectives.
“To provide a cohesive united voice to represent condominium owners across Ontario and to be a leader, representing and serving the interests of Condo Owners by supporting the development of its members, fostering a prosperous and sustainable economic environment while contributing to the quality of life in their condo community. “
In order to retain Chapter and Local District certification - all Chapters and Districts will:
Further cost structures to be defined by COA Ontario for the operations of Local Chapters and Districts. The above is a temporary template of the same. Membership dues for COA Ontario, Chapters and all Districts will be determined at specified rates. In setting membership dues, the COA Ontario Board of Directors will consider COA Ontario share. All condominiums have different levels and unit numbers which will changed in accordance with their building size and unit population. The Chapter Board of Directors and the Local District Board of Directs must ensure that COA Ontario remains fully informed of their financial and operational position. In the event that funding is preventing proper functioning of either the Chapter or Local District, financial assistance can be available upon application to COA Ontario so it is imperative that this avenue is taken prior to de-certification. COA ONTARIO may de-certify a Local District or Chapter when:
The COA Ontario Board of Directors is responsible for determining the viability of a chapter and shall make its recommendation for de-certification. In the event that de-certification of the Local District or Chapter is necessary, all members of that Chapter and/or Local District will be provided an opportunity to become members of a neighbouring Local District and or Chapter upon the approval and acceptance of the Board of Directors of the same. The neighbouring Local District and/or Chapter Board of Directors has the right to decline. All assets and liabilities of a de-certified Chapter or Local District will refer to the propriety of COA Ontario.
